BOOK PROJECTS

Book projects are part of the second grade reading program.  Your

child will read a variety of books throughout the year, and then

prepare a short written activity and creative project for each book at

home.  The written activity sheet will be provided by the teacher a

week prior to the due date.

1. Fairy Tale      due October 5^th

Create a paper bag or felt puppet of one of the characters from the book.

2. Christmas Book    due December 3^rd

Create a diorama (the size of a shoe box, please) showing one of the scenes/settings from the book.

3. Dinosaur Fact Book       due January 18^th

Create a book mark illustrating the dinosaur in its habitat.

4. Biography     due March 7^th

Create a “Can a Character” by decorating a coffee can to look like the character in your biography.

5. Mystery          due May 9^th

Create a “story cube” to tell about the parts of the story.
